Filing a delay claim

Two filing routes, one required screenshot, and the earliest day each line can be claimed, taken from iTaoBuy’s April 2026 guidelines and its estimator.

Without Worry-Free: online customer service

iTaoBuy’s submission guidelines, dated 14 April 2026, give one route for parcels without Worry-Free: contact online customer service directly and send the application with the supporting documents. There is no form and no button.

The chat sits in the help centre and is labelled “7x24 Hours Online Support”. Purchasing staff work 09:00 to 18:00 Beijing time, but a delay claim is an after-sales matter and goes through the chat. Without Worry-Free, the only delay lines that apply are the coupon lines: past 25 days on most routes, past 50 on land and sea routes.

With Worry-Free: File a Claim in the app

Worry-Free parcels are claimed by the buyer directly. In the app or on the mobile site the path is: Personal Center, My Packages, select the parcel, scroll down the parcel details, press File a Claim, upload the documents and submit.

The guidelines list delay among the cases this button handles, alongside loss, missing items and damage. The parcel page is behind the login, so we have not seen the form itself; the steps here are iTaoBuy’s written path.

With Worry-Free: File a Claim on the PC site

On a computer: Orders & Account in the top right, then Packages, find the parcel and click View Details, scroll down to the Shipping Protection Service section and press File a Claim there.

If the section is missing, check the parcel’s purchase record and ask support to locate the correct filing route. A missing button alone does not prove that cover was never bought. The route’s shield in the estimator is a good first check: the HZ postal parcel routes never showed one on 16 October 2026.

The one screenshot a delay claim needs

For a delayed parcel, the guidelines ask for a single item:

A clear screenshot of the package’s shipping time and delivery time is required (the screenshot must fully display key information such as the time and package tracking number to ensure it is true and identifiable).

In practice that means the tracking view on the package page, with the first scan and the delivery scan visible together with the tracking number. If the two events are far apart in the list, two screenshots that each show the tracking number are clearer than one cropped one. Keep the delivery scan as it is; edited images are the fastest way to a refusal.

When you can file

Day markers for filing: day 26 after delivery for coupons; day 31, 46 and 101 for Worry-Free claims.

26coupon

The coupon lines are worded as a parcel that “takes more than 25 days to arrive”, and the March 2026 apology asked buyers to get in touch once the parcel was finally delivered. File after delivery.

31express

Worry-Free on express and EMS/ETK routes: the estimator says the delay claim can be made after 31 days from dispatch, which can be before delivery.

46dedicated

Worry-Free on dedicated routes: “You need 46 days after the parcel is sent out before you can apply”.

101sea

Worry-Free on EMS - Sea Line: the estimator says 101 days. The table’s own figure is cut off.

What to put in the message

A short, complete message saves a round of questions. A workable order:

  1. Parcel number and tracking number.
  2. Route name as shown on the package page, and whether it had Worry-Free.
  3. Shipping date and delivery date, and the day count between them.
  4. The line you are claiming under, in the table’s words, for example “more than 25 days, billable weight 3 kg or less”.
  5. The screenshot.
  6. If you are on Worry-Free and past both lines, ask plainly whether the 20% replaces the coupon or is added to it.

Keep it factual. The table is iTaoBuy’s own, so quoting it is enough; there is no need to argue the case.

After you file

Flow: submit, verification, result, coupon or refund appears in account.

The guidelines promise only that iTaoBuy will “verify and process it as soon as possible and promptly feedback the results”. No processing time is published for delay claims. The estimator’s Worry-Free record holds a value of 7 beside the delay text, under a field called dealDays, and 30 beside loss and damage, but nothing on the page explains it, so we do not treat it as a deadline.

The claims rules also say compensation follows “the official policies of our cooperating logistics providers”. If an answer cites a carrier rule you have not seen, ask for the wording. And keep the chat transcript: it is your record of what was claimed and when.

Check the day count before you file.
