Costs and currency
What an iTaoBuy parcel costs, layer by layer, the exchange rate built into it, and how the delay coupons and 20% lines compare with the fee.
Two payments and five cost layers

The bill arrives in two parts. First the items: the seller’s price and the seller’s domestic shipping to the warehouse. Then the parcel: the route’s shipping fee, which in the estimator includes a fixed operation fee per parcel, plus Worry-Free if you add it.
On 16 October 2026 the estimator’s operation fee was CNY 8 per parcel on the US, UK and postal routes we checked, CNY 15 on the EU DHL Duty-Free, EU Small Packages and DHL Europe Direct routes, and CNY 25 on the US large-cargo UPS route. Its service-fee field read 0. Separately, iTaoBuy’s Terms of Use (updated 31 August 2026) mention a 10% technical service fee in section 8.3, so check the cost breakdown at checkout before you pay.
Two of these layers move independently of the item price. The route price is quoted per weight step, so one extra pair of shoes can cost more than it seems; the operation fee is per parcel, so splitting one order into two parcels pays it twice.
Build the budget in the order the charges arise
The product and domestic delivery form the purchase stage. Later come the international parcel, its packing choices and any selected services. Payment handling, currency conversion and applicable destination charges may affect the overall amount too. Keep a reserve for this later stage instead of spending the whole budget on catalogue prices.
Suppose you combine a jacket and shoes. The larger box may change volumetric billing, so compare the same packed contents when assessing two lines. Check whether a shipping figure is an estimate or a final charge and retain any adjustment. If the parcel later qualifies for a benefit, identify its calculation base separately; a percentage of freight is not the same as a percentage of the entire shopping spend.
Platform rate versus mid-market

The estimator returns prices in CNY and the site converts them at its own rates. On 16 October 2026 those were 5.6836 CNY per US dollar, 7.505 per pound and 6.3692 per euro. Mid-market rates that day were about 6.703, 8.8893 and 7.5175. Paying in dollars, pounds or euros at iTaoBuy’s rate therefore costs roughly 18% more than the CNY figure converted at mid-market (2026-10-16 comparison: +17.9% USD, +18.4% GBP, +18.0% EUR).
The same applies to what a delay pays. A CNY 30 coupon is about USD 5.28 at iTaoBuy’s rate; a CNY 50 coupon about USD 8.80.
Two parcels priced, and what a delay would return

These are list prices. The estimator also shows a struck-through price with a “Limited -40%” tag, but the coupon behind it carries an expiry of 30 June 2026 in the estimator’s own data, so we use the list price throughout.
Set against the fee, the delay payouts are modest. The coupon on a 1 kg U.S. parcel is about a ninth of what the shipping cost, and it only helps if there is a next parcel. The 20% line, where it applies, returns about a fifth, and on the routes shown it opens only at 30 or 45 days.
The comparison is not a reason to skip a claim. It is a reason to choose the route for speed and coverage first, and to treat the delay lines as a floor rather than as insurance.
| Route, 1 kg | List price | At platform rate | Coupon if late | 20% line (Worry-Free) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| U.S. Line - F | CNY 267.40 | USD 47.05 | CNY 30 (over 25 days) | CNY 53.48 (over 45 days) |
| UK Small Parcel Service - F | CNY 144.00 | GBP 19.19 | CNY 30 (over 25 days) | CNY 28.80 (over 30 days) |
| EMS - Sea Line, Canada | CNY 277.80 | USD 48.88 | CNY 30 (over 50 days) | CNY 55.56 if the 100-day figure applies |
Worry-Free, as an input rather than a verdict

Worry-Free is priced per parcel: (shipping fee + total value of goods) × 3%, or 5% on the sea and rail type, according to the estimator’s cover record. Its caps on dedicated routes are CNY 2,000 for shipping and CNY 3,000 for goods; on express and EMS/ETK routes CNY 3,000 and CNY 5,000.
For delay alone it adds the 20% line. Whether that is worth paying depends on the parcel, and on loss and damage cover, which this site does not cover. We give the formula and the caps so you can work it out; we do not recommend either way.
Duties, card logos and the unpublished fees

Under section 8.6 of the Terms of Use the buyer is the importer and pays any import taxes. Some estimator routes carry a “Tax Free” label; that label is iTaoBuy’s, and we have not seen what it covers for each country.
Payment: the site footer shows Mastercard, Maestro, Diners Club International, Discover and American Express, and there is a bank transfer entry behind the login. Fees per payment method, the price of custom photos and the price of storage extensions are not published logged out, so they are not on this page.
